Kings

School rankings are organized by organized battles between five man teams. The top of the rankings are the Kings. As the greater world of the magic realm uses Gaelic terms for royalty, mundane words for social standing are used for the rankings. It goes Kings-> Princes -> Dukes -> Marquess -> Earls -> Viscounts -> Barons. The rankings are established by success in dungeon diving, as well as ranked battles between teams.

Higher ranked team members can expect better opportunities after graduating, while those who don't rank at all can expect to be funneled into the Order Army.

Each of these five man teams is expected to have a tank (person who absorbs most of the damage and keeps a monsters attention), a damage dealer (usually a talented magic user), a rogue (to detect and disarm tracks and perform stealth or ranged attacks), a healer (for obvious reasons), and a final member to round out any weakness in the group.

The teams are expected to spend time dungeon diving, to retrieve valuable materials for the school to resell as well as to train their talents in the gauntlet of the Dungeon. They are accompanied by a squire who is a mundane who functions as a packmule for the group, as well as a household servant.

During the events of the books in the Chaos God Apophis series, the rank of Kings is held by a group consisting of Phrionsa Dominic Stormchaser (damage), Liam Mactíre (beserker), Dravec Velho (rogue), Galeron (tank), and Caldor (healer).
