Sensitivity Statement

I recognize that drawing on mythological sources from various cultures carries a great deal of responsibility. In my work, I primarily reference Irish and Celtic traditions, explore the concept of duality found in Egyptian mythology, and also incorporate elements from Christian mythology. My intention is to honor these rich and diverse narratives without claiming them as historical fact, and I am careful to portray them with respect and in the spirit of creative exploration rather than appropriation.

I also want to clarify that I do not incorporate Native American mythology in my writing. Native American communities have faced a long history of exploitation and misrepresentation of their sacred stories, and it is important to me not to contribute to that harm. Should any aspect of my work seem to resemble Native American narratives, please understand that these similarities are unintentional and reflect the common motifs that often appear across different mythological systems worldwide.

Throughout my work, I depict violence, including violence directed at individuals based on their sexual orientation or identity. I also address violence against women, with subtle references to violence against women of color, presented in a gentle but deliberate way to encourage readers to reflect on these issues and consider perspectives they may not have previously acknowledged. These elements are included to recognize real-world injustices and complexities, not to sensationalize or glorify harm. I acknowledge that such content can be distressing or triggering, and I encourage readers to approach these themes at their own pace, prioritizing their well-being.

Above all, I value the emotional safety and respect of my readers. If you have concerns, questions, or feedback, please feel welcome to share them. My hope is that by thoughtfully weaving together various mythological threads and shedding light on difficult social realities, I can spark meaningful dialogue and greater empathy. Thank you for taking the time to read and engage with my work.
